Climate change has pushed our world to a crucial inflection point.

We must urgently consider new pathways to combat climate change, particularly from the perspectives of developing economies who are on the frontlines of a warming planet.

Join Harvard University's Center for International Development (CID) for our flagship Global Empowerment Meeting, where change-makers from academia, government, business, civil society, and philanthropy will gather to share insights and develop action-focused strategies and solutions to combat climate change.

GEM23: Growing in a Green World will explore different dimensions of climate change, with a particular lens on both the challenges and opportunities emerging from developing countries.  The emphasis will be on action so that we have pathways to pursue evidence-driven solutions together.

Turning Research into Action

For the first time, in partnership with Harvard Radcliffe Institute, CID will launch the GEM Incubation Fund at GEM23. This fund will catalyze new collaborations between researchers and practitioners by providing seed funding and exploratory seminar and accelerator workshop programs to successful applicants.

GEM23 is co-hosted by Harvard University's Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability and is uniquely positioned to bring together preeminent scholars on climate change, leaders faced with policy decisions affected by climate, and philanthropists who are already championing climate solutions at a global scale.
