Maggie Gates, Executive Director

Maggie GatesMaggie is the Executive Director for the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. Alongside her duties at the Carr Center, Maggie is the Assistant Director of Communications and Development at the Safra Center, and serves as and Co-Chair of the Executive Committee for Harvard University’s Committee on the Concerns of Women.

Maggie has supplemented her development and communications duties with project managing the Justice, Health, and Democracy Project on public health paradigms for drug control and criminal justice reform; acting as research manager for the Tensions of Force project police training reform; and serving as Managing Editor of Transforming Anthropology, the flagship journal of the Association of Black Anthropologists.

In her spare time, Maggie enjoys cooking, traveling, watching ghost hunting shows, and making art with her daughter.
