It is the goal of Harvard University to promote an environment that is free of sexual harassment (which includes gender-based harassment) and other sexual misconduct. Sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct is discriminatory, unlawful, denies respect for the rights and dignity of others, and is clearly inconsistent with the nature of an academic community. The University regards such behavior as a violation of the standard of conduct required of all persons associated with the Harvard community and such behavior is strictly prohibited. It is the intention of the University to take whatever action may be needed to prevent and correct behavior that violates this policy.
